Floating Hair: slow-motion video performance made out of 3 videos, 1’ 14”/ 1’ 05”/1’ 06”, 2011
As a man I reflect on a concept of identity – and its related constructing gestures –that concerns women and that has been created by mass media and the beauty industry. Highlighting these well-known visual patterns and replaying them as a man questions the legitimacy of social roles assigned to men and women. Questioning the made-up female image, respectively of its position as a product vulnerable to the male gaze.
