Doc. Dr. Viola Parente-Čapková is Adjunct Professor at the University of Turku and at the Charles University, Prague. At present, she works as a Researcher at the University of Turku. Her research interests include literary history and its theory, feminist literary theory, women’s writing with a focus on Finland, the transnational reception of women’s writing and postcolonial studies. She has published studies on the representation of Roma in Finland’s 19th century literature (e. g. ‘Kulttuurintutkimus’; Multiethnica 33, 2011: http://www.valentin.uu.se/digitalAssets/175/c_175849-l_3-k_me33_online_fine2.pdf) and on Kiba Lumberg’s literary work, which she has also translated into Czech (in ‘Romano džaniben’ 2/2015: http://www.dzaniben.cz/publication.html?t=201502; Multiethnica, forthcoming).
