Peter Bell is group leader of the project ‘Artistic and Artificial Seeing: Computer Vision and Art History in Methodical and Practical Cooperation’ at the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and research assistant at the Prometheus Bildarchiv at the University of Cologne with the project ‘Konzeption zur digitalen Erschließung von Postkarten und Druckgrafik des Rom e.V.’. He studied art history, business economics, painting and print at the University of Marburg. He received his PhD in art history from Philipps University Marburg and Trier University. His research interests include the visual representations of the ‘Other’ in early modernity, as well as image processing and digital humanities.
