Marcel Loeffler is a jazz accordionist and composer based in Strasbourg, France. Born into a Manouche family in Alsace, Loeffler grew up playing music with family members. As an adult, he earned his reputation as one of France’s most sought-after jazz accordionists. He was a featured member of the ensembles Sweet Chorus and Note Manouche along with his cousin, guitarist Mandino Reinhardt. Although Loeffler is primarily known for his work as a jazz manouche musician, he is also well-versed in other jazz genres as well as Eastern European traditional musics, Bach, tango, and various popular genres. Loeffler was recently hired to the faculty of the Conservatoire de Strasbourg.
