Józef Władysław Kamiński (Roma name “Malińciu”, b.1929, d. 1985) was a Roma activist from the Galicyaks (Polska Roma) group. One of the founders of the Tarnów Gypsy Social and Cultural Association (1963), active member of the Board and its chairman (1980-1985).
Founder of the Kelderashi Boilermakers’ Cooperative, which hired the Roma from Tarnów city since the 1980s. He was an active organizer of the Roma cultural movement – member of the Nevo Drom folk band, consultant for the first Roma exhibition in Poland, organized in the Tarnów District Museum (1979), participant of the 4th World Roma Congress in Göttingen (1981, selected for the presidium of the IRU), the 2nd Roma Festival in Chandigarh in India (1983), and the meeting with India’s Prime Minister, Indira Ghandi. Along with a group of Roma from Tarnów, he also featured as an actor in a TV series entitled Popielec (1982).
