Ivana Todorović is a filmmaker from Belgrade, where she is also currently based. Her work tackles complex issues that deal with the cycles of abuse and recovery. Her films have been screened at over a hundred international film festivals such as the 2013 Berlinale Shorts competition, IFF Rotterdam, Traverse City Festival, Palm Springs IFF, Sarajevo etc. She is a recipient of awards in Serbia, Kosovo, Italy, Canada, Greece, UK and the US. Her films have been shown in places such as the Anthology Film Archive, Cultura Contemporiana de Barcelona, and broadcast as part of the New York Times ‘Made with Kickstarter’ series. She has appeared as a speaker at TEDxAUK in Pristina and conducts filmmaking workshops at universities worldwide. Ivana is a graduate of the Documentary Media Studies programme at the New School in New York, holds a BA in ethnology and anthropology from the University of Belgrade, a diploma in peace studies and has trained with the Paris-based Ateliers Varan. She was mentored in the New York Foundation for the Arts ‘Immigrant Artist’ project in 2010. In 2015, she was selected as an artist for the Saari Residence, Finland.
