Elżbieta Mirga-Wójtowicz is a Roma working in government programmes for minority ethnic and national minorities in Poland. Between 2008 – 2014, she was appointed Ethnic and National Minorities Plenipotentiary of the Małopolskie Voivode.

She graduated from the Animation of Culture programme (2002), and Ethnic Relations and International Migrations programme (2004), at the Jagiellonian University of Kraków.

She held an internship at the Employment, Social Affairs & Inclusion Department of the European Commission in 2005, and a student of the Roma Access Programme at Central European University, Budapest (2006). From 2007, she worked part-time as a lecturer with the Pedagogical University of Cracow’s post-graduate course, The Roma in Poland – History, Law, Culture, Ethnic Stereotypes. She was awarded the International Leadership Visitor Programme scholarship from the United States’ government (2010).

Elżbieta Mirga-Wójtowicz is currently a doctoral student, at the Political Science Institute of the Pedagogical University of Cracow.
