Description

Mihaela Drăgan’s performative installation – Kali Mija vs. the Gadge aliens. The tehnoapocalypse is a literal take on the subject of the disappearance of technology. The work makes use of the apocalyptic imagination, which is always connected to the world of fairytales.

The installation imagines a dystopian future where technology was destroyed by an alien group called Gadge (in Romani language, Non-Roma) and the only ones who recovered some of the knowledge are a group of 3 witches-alchemists called Kali Mija (in Romani language, “Black Pussies”). To reinvent the technology they need to come back in the past, in the year of its disappearance - 2016 to find a fourth superhero to give them information about the moment of extinction - who is someone from the audience of the exhibition. Not everyone is “The Chosen”, so everyone individually has to go through a test / proof / solve.
