RomArchive wins Grimme Online Award 2020
On June 25, 2020, RomArchive won the prestigious Grimme Online Award 2020 in the category "Knowledge and Education". This award honors educational programs that provide content relevant to the general public and serve to educate, advise and inform society.

Resistance to discrimination and stereotyping by the majority society has become a source of creativity in the arts. Thus, it has become a source of creativity in the arts and cultures of the Sinti and Roma as well. This volume provides a profound introduction to the artistic creativity and cultural self-assertion of Europe's largest minority, often still concealed today. It emerged from the multiple award-winning digital platform RomArchive, to whose rich treasure trove of data digital interfaces in the book refer.

The RomArchive collection contains items from ten archive sections: Visual Art, Dance, Film, Flamenco, Theatre & Drama, Literature, Music, Romani Civil Rights Movement, Politics of Photography and Voices of the Victims. Focusing on self-representation, the objects have been collected from private collections, museums, archives and libraries around the world.
